General

Applications for the 2024 Toloa Secondary School Scholarship Fund will open on Monday 2 October 2023 and close on Monday 30 October 2023. Save time and register now on MPP's online funding application portal.

Scholarship payment

Toloa Secondary Scholarship recipients are awarded the sum of $1,000 excluding GST for the academic year.

An invoice from your school will be required and funds will be paid directly to your secondary school to manage on your behalf. The school will be able to release your funds for study-related costs as agreed by the Toloa funding team, the Parent/Caregiver, student and the school.

The device part of the scholarship package is also sent to your school, for delivery to you directly.

Documentation of spend of the scholarship fund should be made available to the Toloa team e.g. receipts. Any funds not used will remain as a credit on your account. If you are in Year 13, any residual funds are to be discussed with the Toloa Scholarship and Fund manager and the outcome to be determined on a case by case basis.

Scholarship funds will be paid directly to your secondary school to manage on your behalf. Toloa Secondary Scholarship Recipients may only use their funds for the following:

  • School fees, school uniforms and stationery
  • STEAM school trips, STEAM programs/courses organized by your school

Cash is not to be withdrawn from schools and given to a student without prior discussion with the Toloa Scholarships and Funding Manager.

Devices

Only Chromebooks & Bags that have a factory unopened seal with no writing on the box are eligible for returns. Any devices that have been opened will be denied for exchange.

You will receive a digital device as per the standards provided by the Ministry of Education. The device provided will remain the property of the scholarship recipient. These devices are pre-purchased directly through our partnered provider.

Your device will be sent directly to your school. The school will notify you when you are able to collect your device. We anticipate devices to be delivered by the end of the week ending 17th of February 2023. Due to Cyclone Gabrielle, those in the North Island may experience a few delays with delivery.

An 0800 number will be provided with your device, should you experience any issues.

No – this is for a device only

Yes, you will be awarded a chrome book but if you wish to opt for a refurbished laptop, you can do so by following the instructions provided in the cover letter. The Cover letter will advise students of how they can exchange their devices.

Change of details

If you change your subjects, please email [email protected] so that we may change your details on our database.

If any of your personal details change or you are moving homes, please notify [email protected] as soon as possible.

If you change schools during the application process, please let [email protected] know as soon as possible.

If you change schools after Toloa has paid your Scholarship Funds to your current school you had indicated on your application, please get in contact with [email protected]
