This self-assessment tool is Step 1 of the two-step application process for the Pacific Aotearoa Community Outreach - Social Enterprise Fund.

By completing this tool, you will be able to progress and complete the Application Form knowing how much funding you can apply for. Instructions

1: Look at the four Social Enterprise phases below. Where does your organisation fit? Identify the phase that suits your organisation the most. 

Phase 1: Start-up

 Phase 2: Emerging Phase 3: Growth Phase 4: Established
  • Governance needs strengthening
  • Driven by one person & highly relying on volunteers
  • Vision, mission, strategic direction are identified not formalized in a Organisational business/ strategic plan
  • Respond to socio-economic & cultural needs
  • Registered organisation

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Meets characteristics of a Start-up at Phase 1, PLUS:
  • Existence of strategic/business plan
  • Stable governance – meeting regularly, compliance with Charitable Trust requirements etc
  • Audited financial report

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meets characteristics of a Start-up & Emerging, PLUS:

  • Established partnership for funding
  • Org/programme is in a position to scale/ grow
  • Robust system, policies, processes and HR in place
  • Strong governance
  • Ongoing review/ evaluation of work programme
  • Some paid staff and volunteers
  • Partly MSD/OT accredited (or equivalent) organisation (or in the process to become an accredited org)

 

 Meets characteristics of a Start-up, Emerging & Growth PLUS:
  • Financially stabled & audited
  • Impact of services is recognised & shared widely
  • Programme is culturally appropriate & flexible
  • Robust system, policies, process incl health & safety
  • Paid & committed staff
  • Fully MSD/OT accredited (or equivalent) organisation

You can apply for up to $10,000

You can apply for up to $20,000

You can apply for up to $50,000
