Toloa Kenese Fund

Applications for the Toloa Kenese Fund are now closed.

Toloa Kenese Fund will support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) providers to deliver targeted Pacific programmes and workshops with primary, intermediate, and secondary schools, students, and parents to create opportunities for engagement to raise awareness and increase Pacific uptake of STEM subjects.

The Toloa Kenese Fund will support Providers to deliver local, regional, national initiatives over 1-2 years, grants of up to $50,000 per annum.

We are looking for initiatives or activities that is creative, innovative, have high impact and will lift STEM aspirations amongst our Pacific communities.

We will be looking at target audience (primary, intermediate, secondary school level), numbers involved, the reach for our communities, the involvement of parents, successful initiatives that will raise awareness of STEM study and careers, increase the uptake of secondary school students studying STEM subjects across year levels, supporting successful completion of study and/or STEM related projects.

We would like to see initiatives scaled up to deliver STEM to a greater number of people, to enable participants to develop a more in-depth and greater understanding of STEM.

If you have an idea or an existing initiative that meets the following criteria then we encourage you to submit an application:

  • Targeted towards Pacific communities in Aotearoa
  • To lift STEM aspirations amongst Pacific communities
  • Demonstrates a link towards the Pacific Aotearoa Lalanga Fou Goals: Thriving Pacific cultures, languages and identities, Prosperous Pacific communities, Health and resilient Pacific peoples and Confident, thriving and resilient Pacific young people.
