What is the Community Covid-19 Fund?
We recognise that there are Pacific community groups creating and leading their own approaches and solutions responding to Covid-19 and making a positive impact on Pacific communities in Aotearoa. The Community Covid-19 Fund supports those Pacific communities and groups so that these approaches and solutions can be sustained or upscaled to reach more Pacific peoples.
What will not be funded?
The Community Covid-19 Fund will not fund the following:
- For profit activities
- International travel or initiatives occurring overseas including the Pacific nations
- Salaries or administration costs
- Wage subsidies or direct financial assistance
- Grants are not to be for sole benefit of one individual
How much funding is available?
There are three categories of funding that applicants can apply for:
Grassroots initiatives (grants up to $5,000) - apply here
Funding for groups that have a new idea that they want to test and pilot.
Acceleration initiatives (grants up to $10,000) - apply here
Funding for an initiative that has already had a positive impact in the community and you would like to improve it.
Lift off initiatives (grants up to $50,000) - apply here
Funding for an initiative that has already had a positive impact in the community and you would like to collaborate with others to scale up or expand to deliver in other regions.
When can I apply?
The fund is now open and closes on Friday 28th August 2020.
How will my initiative be monitored and evaluated?
When you complete the application form you will need to demonstrate:
- The impact your initiative intends to make (outcomes)
- How you will know that you have achieved that impact (measures)
If your application is successful, more information will be provided to you on how your initiative will be monitored and evaluated.
You will be expected to report to the Ministry about the progress your initiative is making towards the intended impact.
When do I find out about the outcome of my application?
In general, you should find out within two weeks of the closing date which is Friday 28 August 2020. We will notify you in writing. It is important to note that incomplete forms may further delay the outcome of your application.
If successful, when can I expect to receive funds?
You can expect funds to appear in your account within two weeks of the written approval. It is important to note that incomplete forms may delay payment.
Can I apply for other funding provided by the Ministry even if I am successful in this one?
Yes, you can apply for funding through the Ministry’s other funding. However, it cannot be for the same initiative that you have applied for in this Fund.
