Alliance Health Plus (AH+) is very pleased to announce the appointment of Metuakore (Metua) Bates-Faasisila as the new Alliance Health Plus (AH+) Manager of Pacific Integration and Development Services (PIDS).

Being a Registered Nurse with an executive MBA qualification and Queens Service Medal awarded for her contributions to the Cook Islands community, Metua has significant experience in leading and managing programmes designed to improve the health and wellbeing of Pacific peoples.

“I’m excited to have been appointed as the PIDS Manager, and look forward to contributing to the AH+ mission of transforming the health and well-being of Pacific and high-needs communities,” Metua says about her new role.

Metua was formally the Vice President of the Auckland branch of PACIFICA Inc., and their national treasurer.

She has more than 33 years' experience in the health sector and has worked extensively within the Pacific community in New Zealand to promote positive health outcomes as a foundation member of the Cook Islands Nurses Association, and in 2002, she was the  recipient of the Pacific Health Leadership Award.
