Ministry supports Pacific Biz Network
The Ministry recently attended the Pacific and Māori Business in Action Showcase held at Te Wharewaka o Poneke on the Wellington waterfront.
Organised by the Wellington Pasifika Biz Network, the event provided an opportunity to network, and interact with emerging and current business owners regarding their products and services.
Patron of the Wellington Pacific Biz Network, Hon Luamanuvao Winnie Laban says the goal is to help grow Pasifika businesses in Wellington.
“The pool of Pacific businesses will help create a community of like-minded business entrepreneurs who can share ideas and successes, and drive leading-edge Pacific by Pacific innovation.”
The Ministry’s work is to help support the visibility of Pasifika businesses in the region.
The Pacific Biz network is a great channel to bring together the Pasifika business community with the primary goal of networking and engaging, whilst celebrating successes and challenges in the business world.
The importance of growing Pacific owned businesses is part of the Ministry’s key priority work.
Supporting business networks is an important way to ensure that businesses are well connected and provides a platform to address shared challenges and future opportunities.
The Wellington Pasifika Business Network event was first held in December 2014. To date, they continue to grow and support more Pacific businesses and aspiring business owners in the market.
