General Manager welcomed traditionally
The new General Manager Regional Partnerships for the Ministry, Aiolupotea Toleafoa Sina Aiono, was welcomed during an ‘ava ceremony on Tuesday 19 September.
Held at the Ministry’s Auckland Office in Manukau, the ceremony signalled the beginning of Aiolupotea’s tenure, as she embarks on her journey with the Ministry.
At the ‘ava ceremony, Ministry for Pacific Peoples Chief Executive Officer Laulu Mac Leauanae said the Ministry is delighted with the appointment and very pleased to have Aiolupotea as part of the team.
Laulu congratulated Mrs Aiolupotea and encouraged her as she begins her journey to lead the regional teams at the Ministry. He also reminded her that the position comes with many challenges.
“We look forward to supporting Aiolupotea in her new role and for her team achieving its deliverables and goals,” says Laulu.
Aiolupotea hails from Papatoetoe and has been a resident of South Auckland for over 30 years.
She transitions into the Ministry from her role as a senior manager at Manukau Institute of Technology.

The Ministry congratulated Aiolupotea on her appointment and is adamant that she is up for the challenges that await her.
