Samoan Language Week
Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa: Samoan Language Week runs from Sunday May 29 until Saturday 4 June 2016.
The week is a chance for all New Zealanders to celebrate the Samoan culture and language. Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa is also a time to focus on encouraging more people to use and learn Gagana Samoa. Sixty per cent of Samoans in New Zealand speak Gagana Samoa but we want that number to grow.
The Ministry provides organisational and financial support to Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa and works closely with Samoan communities and partners to make it happen.
We encourage you to find an event happening for Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa in your area take part in the vibrant celebrations.
